MyoPax is a pioneering academic biotech spin-off developing breakthrough therapies for severe muscle diseases, conditions that cause progressive loss of mobility, independence, and quality of life, and for which no effective treatments currently exist. Based in Berlin and Copenhagen, we operate from leading biotech incubators (Bayer Co.Lab and BioInnovation Institute) where innovation thrives.
We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher to drive key aspects of preclinical development of our gene-repair platform in muscular dystrophies. In this role, you will establish novel functional cell-based assays that directly inform our therapy’s development path. You will gain first-hand insight into taking a therapy from bench toward the clinic. With your contribution, you will advance transformative therapies addressing urgent unmet medical needs.
Your responsibilities
- Develop and validate cell- and tissue-based models for disease research
- Establish reproducible functional readouts (mechanical and electrical)
- Conduct genetic editing
- Optimize measurement platforms and ensure high data quality
- Generate data supporting therapeutic development and downstream studies
- Maintain rigorous, well-documented records in line with good scientific up to good laboratory practice
- Drive publications and support intellectual-property activities
Your profile
- PhD in biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, or a related discipline
- Hands-on experience in several of the following:
- Cell culture, preferably adherent cells and/or 3D culture / organoids / tissue engineering
- Gene editing
- Contractility and/or electrophysiology measurements on muscle/cardiac cells
- Assay development and validation
- Preclinical validation and regulatory
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proactive, independent working style with curiosity to quickly dive into new topics
- Fluent English; German is a plus
