3.3 million euro granted by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).

The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) has granted Prof. Simone Spuler’s team 3.3 million Euro for a clinical study in children with a rare urological disease.
Due to an embryonic malformation, the exstropy-epispadias complex leads to a muscle defect causing lifelong urinary incontinence. The bladder sphincter will be reconstructed by autologous muscle stem cell transplantation. The aim of the study is to prove safety and efficacy of the newly developed muscle stem cell product.
